A year of writing dangerously

“We live and breathe words.” Cassandra Clare

My name is Eleanor James and I am addicted to words. I consume them in vast quantities, and then expel them into notebooks and onto screens.

There are worse things!

2018 is the year that St Clair content came into existence and this isn’t a coincidence. I started the year with a big change in my life.

I left my job at the amazing creative agency Ready and moved home to Wales to start a year of writing dangerously.

The first six months of 2018 I spent helping my clients find the right words for their websites, print and social media.

I’ve also been working on articles and stories for various magazines and publishers and finishing my novel LIKE.

A little about me and my writing

I was born and raised in a small village in South Wales. For a short while, I worked as a Molecular Biologist. After falling asleep on a microscope, an incident that left me with red rings around my eyes for days, I realised that this career was not for me.

I turned to my true love — writing —working three jobs whilst studying to complete my Masters. My favourite job was in a traditional sweet shop because Sundays were quiet and I could write under the counter whilst sucking a sherbet lemon.

Now I create content for companies all over the country from my tiny cottage in South Wales and my days consist of writing and social media marketing.

I also work with other writers to help them develop their author brand and social media presence.

What is changing?

I have reached the stage in my freelance career where I either need to give it my all or give up. I am on the verge of making enough money to live completely from my freelancing, but my savings have run out.

So naturally, I decided to give it my all.

That’s why I finally made this website. I plan to blog about copywriting, SEO, finding freelance work and social media.

Here’s to a year of writing dangerously.
